Root Canal

Always wondering what would happen to those old old dark dead teeth...

Last week, while cracking Japanese cracker, I also cracked my dark old dead tooth. Made a phone call right away and told them, I need a crown!!.... Tuesday, went to Dr. Fong, and he suggested to RETREAT the 30 years old root canal and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Jespersen the following day. Dr. Jsepersen? I don't know... They are over cupertino, 2 story building? husband and wife? Yes, I went there once long time ago...

Driving in the center of Cupertino, I finally found that my eye doctor and the root canal doctor were in the building... Well, Cupertino town center has been totally remodeled since last time I got my root canal done long time ago...

They have a new doctor there now. Dr. Kim. Graduated from Occidental University in 1999, then U of P, the 3 years somewhere... So, he should be around 30. I was wondering how long will a specialist dentist work? 20 years? 20 years after studying so hard before 30 years old?

Dr. Jespersen was doing something, then something, then something... after a while, he asked where the old root canal was done? China? "No." I couldn't really talk, and was thinking about... is Taiwan China? may be.... I was told that the very very old root canal was done with a very very old procedure and used very tough cement. He tried to removed all the old cement, but the tooth could not be retreated as expected...

Next stop... Dr. Fong...
