Last Friday, when I arrived home, about 4:30pm, found 2 sons missing. So I called. “Sean, where are you?” “At school playing with my friend.” “Ok.”
“Kenneth, where are you?” “I am biking.” “Biking where?” “I am biking to Helen’s house," “You what?” “I am biking to Helen’s house. I am at Bascom now. “ “Are you wearing hamlet?” “Yes.” “Be careful…”
Wondering what happened before my arrival… I was wandering in the house…
Then I found his lap top was gone. But the desktop was on.
“Biking to the one I need.” He left this message on his IM so that his friend will know he is not at his computer. And he left google map there.
I was staring at the map…It’s almost crossing the whole bay area...
Google map is getting better. You may select high way direction, or avoid high way, or take public transportation. The map sitting there was for local. And he left some extra print out of the map on the desk… It’s 16.5 miles from Los Gatos to Helen’s home. It will take 20 min to drive via high way, 45 min local, about 2 hr or more for buses. $3.50 for buses, $7.50 for driving….
I couldn’t stop him, nor finding him and picking him up, but I worried so much.
I looked at the map, and looked at the message “Biking to the one I need”….worrying about my just-turned-16 son, almost crying. I couldn’t even call him since I was so afraid that he might get into accident while biking and talking on the phone.
I went to the family room; sit down; “watched” tv; couldn’t move much; couldn’t call.
Just waited…. waited until 7pm, and called. He arrived. Safe and sound.
Jeffrey went to his parents’ house, and picked Kenneth up on the way home around 8:30pm. Jeffrey said the bike “broke”, 1 paddle missing, 1 flat tire….
Kenneth was trying to be cool, showing me his map (see, I am prepared… getting his map from his pocket, it’s almost broken after laying in his jean pocket biking for 3 hr), telling me what he saw, some “old” lady was jogging and jogged with him about a mile showed him the way… found the famous boy private high school, discovered some nice restaurants around Bascom Ave, having fun while going down from the bridges…

Kenneth found his girl... Last Sunday, while picking him up from N san jose, the girl walked him out from her home. I was so helpless and forced to admit he is belonged to other woman… =( (see me crying?????)
Ha ha ha? She looks like a nice person. Mixed Asian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian, light skin, a little choppy, and about the same height as me. Cute. Parents work 10 hr min wage, married sister and family live with them in a small 3 bedrm North/East San Jose house (next to a park and 2 blocks from the hi school, nice location). Kenneth now realized how lucky we all are and finally realized why education is important. ( I hope…) I told him both of them need to keep their grades up.
Kenneth is totally in love. It’s fun to see teenage falling in love (wait until he becomes doing nothing but loving…=)
I went home “early” yesterday and found him talking on the cell phone. Oops, forgot about cell phone minutes. So I told him to talk after 9pm and weekends (free). IM before 9pm. And make sure all the home work is done. He hung up.
Then I went checked the damage… since Sep/12, this teen had made almost 600 min peak time min, and 450+ non peak time min, and I only have 30 min left from the whole family plan for next 2 weeks.
I called and upgraded my plan from 700 to 1400 min and had a talk with him…you are not only using our cell min and she is using their cell min which will cause her lots of troubles also... (her wellness is now more important…ha ha ha) Before this month, our avg monthly cell min had been about 200 min for all 5 phones.
So, he made a call to her, @ peak time, and talked for a while….???? how about my cell phone minutes????
He called again around 9:30pm, closing his bedroom door, laying in his warm feather bed and smiling…. bed time for weekday is 10pm, and I went and sit in his bed with him around 10:25 (it’s easier to just sit there and don’t say anything, they will go to bed eventually while mom’s waiting)…
“mom…go…” he pushed me out from the bed…
“why?” I went get Cleo the cat and got in the blanket again….
No hope…”you have 5 min more.”, then I left and went back @ 10:35. he hung up.
He said, “she will come over this weekend… “
“With others?“ (it’s a hint for him)
“yaaaaaa, she wants to see Ien. I signed them up in the same chat group.” (kenneth’s white kid friend over los gatos)…
“you know my rules?“
“Yehhhhhh… Sex, drug, drink. “
“Ok. “
Thomas got excited last couple days about this… He’s been listening…=) Sean has been busy playing with his new friends from hi school… girls and boys… cute white girls…
Jeffrey told me NOT to restrict much YET, the reaction will be too strong. Just wait and see for a while.
I knew this is going to be “real” once I saw the girl. They just look so nice together… Hope they will enjoy their first love and have a good memory…
Will be busy staying with the madly in love teen and madly bothered mid age…
On Sep/30/07, Louise officially lost one of the most important people to another woman….
I will remember this day =)
